ABOUT ST. MARY'S
CATHOLIC CEMETERY

St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery located at 3000 Church Street in Norfolk was established in 1854 on 30 acres of land adjacent to the Virginia Zoological Park and is one of the oldest monument cemeteries in Southeast Virginia. In 2001 the cemetery was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register as a historic district.

Although the cemetery primarily serves the Hampton Roads Catholic community, anyone may purchase property for themselves or their loved ones regardless of religious affiliation. Ground burial plots, columbarium niches, along with crypts and niches in a new chapel mausoleum are available. St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery is open to the public every day from sunrise to sunset. Additional information and/or a tour of the cemetery can be obtained by contacting Family Service Advisor Mark Leporatti at 757.627.2874.
